It's a fast paced political thriller, with a cliffhanger at the end of every episode, in the vein of good scandinavian noir series.
The acting is mostly top notch, the script is the best. The protagonists are not the good guys, but that's what makes it edgy and closer to reality, even if at the end you are left wondering if anyone does any real work, and what the full cost for a democracy of hourly shenanigans is; but then reality in the US in particular has already gone beyond this nightmare.
It does make Macron's victory seem even more implausible, but gives a good sense of the challenges and the enormity of his movement's victory.
Sometimes there are similarities with Yes Minister or the original House of Cards, all far superior to the dumbed down US version.
Following modern productions the language sometimes isn't as clearly enunciated as it could, to make things more real, so even if you do speak french you might need to go over certain segments; without subtitles it would be lost on you if you don't speak french.
