First they seem independent of the other "clans" and then some "government" throw them in prison. So what exactly is his group?
Volunteer firefighters? It makes no sense. Okay their "leader" blinded his brother and John Cusak was supposed to protect him, so they fled.
Why was the Adrian body's character so nuts? Why was he even allowed to be close to his brother if they were already aware that he killed his father?
Why wasn't he arrested? I like the relationship that develops between the romans and the people in the "prison" town?
The chick didn't show up in the prison town, so when did she start following him? And John Cusak being captured It just doesn't jive. How that all went down He was supposedly this great fighter and commander and pretty much fell for a trap that was easy to spot, and then dies.
It's pointless. It makes his character pretty useless to the story. Why kill your brother now? If that was the plan the whole time why blind him before instead of just killing him outright.
Again it just isn't plausible or the story as it is told is just really poorly done. The battle scene at the end, awful. Jackie Chan is supposed to be awesome, and granted he's hurt, but the few scenes where Adrian Brody is fighting There were enjoyable moments and parts and I'm a huge Jackie Chan and John Cusack fan, but this movie was just poorly done.

So much so that I wonder if the "poor" reviewers had actually bothered to really watch it? Jackie Chan came across as a far more restrained and better actor here than in his usual type of movie, whilst both John Cusack and Adrian Brody did a brilliant job in being truly believable and authentic in their respective roles.
The costumes and props were outstanding, and the story line offers a valuable lesson for our own age. All in all, very well done!
What a waste of talent and opportunity and money. I watched it only because of John Cusack, but what could have been a great and interesting story was given an amateurish treatment, loads of the usual stupid s jokes from Jackie Chan with his signature jumping around like a monkey was just absolutely awful.
A meeting between the armies of 2 great empires could have been a really interesting story, instead the whole thing was spoiled by a bad and predictable script.
As others have stated, the time on the box is 99 minutes. The cuts are obvious, and I guess this has resulted in somebody cutting and pasting short explanatory scenes all over the place.
Also, some scenes are simply "what's happening? How did they get there". Still, it is fairly understandable and viewable, although it tends to dwell on emotion, some of which would have been better to cut shorter rather than the story line.
The scale of this film is impressive and so is its cast, but the script and editing are really poor.
The story is uneven and muddled, making this a bit frustrating as an epic experience. It's worth a watch though.
