We had two lake view rooms with balconies, which were interconnected. The rooms were light and airy with good air conditioning, a very large comfortable bed firm mattress , plenty of wardrobe space , decorated in traditional Belle Epoch style.
Good sized bathroom with Spa bath, shower and toiletries supplied. Fresh towels and bedding changed daily. The gardens and outdoor pool area were ideal for relaxing with seating, loungers and a pool bar providing snacks and drinks.
The staff were exceptional, very welcoming and ensuring every need was attended to. One of our daughters is gluten intolerant and they provided a gluten free menu for dinners and breakfast, this included snacks to take with her for the day.
We stayed half board and found the meals to be varied and included, soups, cold meats, pasta dishes, risotto, meat dishes, fish dishes and vegetarian options, with a good dessert trolley.

Beautiful property in need of improvement. The Hotel is set on a beautiful property on the shores of Lago Maggiore, close to the center of Stresa.
The terrace overlooks the lake while the hotel offers indoor and outdoor pools, a spa and a small gym. The staff at the bar and spa were most wonderful.
Unfortunately this is where the good things end. We asked to leave a day early and the hotel refused, quoting their cancellation policy.
I would have understood if we had cancelled the entire trip, but a modification of one day must be possible - especially if the booking was done via the hotel site.
In addition, the state of the room left much to be desired. The wooden floors were cracked and an unused electric line hung above our balcony window.

Style and comfort with a magnificent view. Location; style; comfort; and service. This hotel is most definitely top of the class.
Marvelously located facing Lake Maggiore, the views of the lake and the Alps from the front rooms are just magnificent.
After enjoying an exquisite breakfast downstairs, you can just take a 7 minute walk to downtown Stresa. The premises are completed with beautiful gardens and terraces, as well as private parking.

Perfect stay. Easy, free parking in the car garage. Grand regal style, very clean. Quick and easy check-in. We had a great family room, with wonderful balcony with lake view.
Very comfy beds, full black-out shades, good airco. Only thing I didn't like was the automated fridge if you touch something, you get charged , when I just wanted to store my own drinks.
Wifi worked well. Breakfast buffet was fresh and delicious - although I don't completely understand why almost every item at the buffet had to be served by someone.
One of the waiters was a bit rude to other guests who were not allowed to sit at an unoccupied table for some reasons. Nice pool area with heated pool.
However, the indoor pool is probably one of the best I have seen anywhere; it is a heated pool in a cave-like setting, with several jacuzzis and water spouts.
Relaxing beds and chairs as well, and enough towels. Very easy-going, not much rules. Date of stay: July Value.

A beautiful hotel with great facilities and friendly personell, but I would not recommend it for families with small children that would like to use the pool area.
We have children age 4 and 6. In order to not disturb the other guests most guests seemed without children , the pool guard s made it clear on multiple occasions they would prefer if the children did not use the whole pool they can both swim without aids and also that they keep their voices down.

Answer from OI Jan We stayed in various hotels so not certain. There was definitely a safe, no charge. I think there wasn't a fridge, though they will let you empty the minibar and use it for a fee.
I'm not sure about tea making, there was one hotel that didn't have it. Apologies for not being more helpful.
